Asian Face lift

Asian skin tends to be thicker and has a lesser tendency for sagginess. For this reason, Asian patients requesting facial procedures tend to require a minimally invasive facelift.

The latest approach to facelifts involves more than tightening the skin and deep tissue. It involves minimal scar facelifts, skin resurfacing, targeted liposuction, volumetric restoration, laser, TCA peel, and other synergistic facelift procedures. Restoring facial volumes is as important as tightening the skin and deep tissue.

Different techniques are available for Asian face lifts, including:

Thread Lift – facial soft tissues are elevated to a more youthful position using sutures only. Therefore, there are minimal or no cuts and, hence, no scars.
Facial Volumetric Restoration, also known as Face fat injection, involves removing excess fat from facial areas such as neck fat and reintroducing it into areas that do not have enough fat, such as cheekbone areas.
Face Lift – a more advanced facial sagginess may require a more significant lifting technique, such as repositioning and tightening underlying facial soft tissues and removing the excess and redundant skin. This is also known as the S lift, MACS lift or short scar face lift
Neck Lift—Similar to a facelift, the neck can be lifted using threads or a surgical neck lift procedure.
Mid–face lift: This is typically performed minimally invasively through laser or skin peel, face fat injection, and neck liposuction.

Jaw reduction
—Many Asian patients have a broad lower part of the face due to either a large jaw bone or large muscle. The enlarged or masculine jawline can be made more slender and feminine in 2 ways.

Surgical approach: The traditional treatment for a disproportionate jaw has been jaw shaving, which reduces the outer portion of the jaw to narrow the face.

Non-surgical treatment for Masseter muscle. This is a more common way to narrow down the jaw lines. It involves injecting Antiwrinkle product into the muscle on both sides. The treatment is performed in the office at the same time as the consultation. It will produce immediate results that last for 6 months.

Brow Lift
A brow lift is just one of the procedures that can help Asian patients achieve a younger look. At around the age of 30, many patients develop what appears to be excess upper eyelid skin. Although this is sometimes the case, the culprit behind this apparent excess skin is often the sagging of the eyebrow and forehead. The ideal procedure to correct this situation is a brow lift, typically performed through an incision behind the hairline.

During the brow lift procedure, Dr. Barnouti makes one incision on each side of the scalp. Through this incision, the surgeon will work his way down to the eyebrow and lift it. When the procedure is performed correctly, the lateral brow area is elevated so that there is a slight arch to the brow. The central portion should not be lifted because this can lead to a “surprised” appearance.

Mandatory Surgical Warning

Surgical Warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Please read our Risks and Complications of Plastic Surgery page.

GP Referral & Assessment Requirements

In accordance with the latest April 2026 AHPRA and Medical Board of Australia regulations, all patients seeking a consultation for cosmetic surgery must obtain a referral from their General Practitioner (GP). This ensures your medical history is reviewed by an independent doctor who can discuss your motivations and goals before you meet with a specialist.

A mandatory seven-day cooling-off period applies after your initial consultation before surgery can be booked. Patients are also encouraged to seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner before proceeding. These requirements exist to protect patients and to ensure every decision is fully informed and free of pressure.
