Lips Plastic Surgery – Return Of The TROUT Pout! Dr Laith Barnouti explains
We were under the impression that the trout pout had been consigned to the land of “sooo 2007” – but no such luck.
Although pillow lips are back, the new and improved versions are slightly less exaggerated than the duck faces of the past.
“These days, most like to go for subtle and natural-looking lips,” says Sydney plastic surgeon Dr Laith Barnouti.
That may be so, but we can still spot a fishy look when we see one! Dr Barnouti confirms that, according to his professional opinion, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz are among the latest stars to have lip augmentation. Smack down!

KIM
Kim Kardashian, 30, blames her suspiciously fuller lips on – wait for it – the flu, and insists she would never use any kind of fillers. However, Dr Barnouti disagrees. “If flu gives people plumper lips then plastic surgeons will be out of jobs!” he says.

LINDSAY
Lindsay Lohan, 24, clearly has an addictive personality, and it seems that lip filler is a current drug of choice. “Lindsay’s lip is a touch overdone,” says Dr Barnouti. “It’s a look that some may love and can easily be reproduced, but it is certainly out there.”

CAMERON
There’s something about Cam Diaz’s mouth. Although the 38-year-old says, “I love getting older,” she seems to have turned to lip augmentation to add some oomph to her face. “Cameron’s lips looks nice and natural, nicely filled and in good proportions,” says Dr Barnouti.
Old-school smackers

MEG RYAN
The former pixie-faced queen of romcoms, 49, reportedly started with lip injections before opting for full-on implants.

PARIS HILTON
Although the heiress, 29, insists she’s “all natural” and would never have surgery, there’s no denying her lips are a tad full back in 2009.

LISA RINNA
The actress, 47, admits to massively overdoing the silicone injections, and had the size of her upper lip reduced with surgery.

LARA FLYNN BOYLE
The 40-year-old actress, best known for Twin Peaks, has been dubbed the trout-pout queen. Sorry honey, that’s not a compliment.

JESSICA SIMPSON
The 30-year-old confesses to trying proteinbased injections, but says, “It looked fake to me and I didn’t like it.”
